In 2010 Mr. Anthony Rasquinha, the Managing Director of Electro Pneumatics and Hydraulics Private Ltd. a Catholic Businessman, engaged in assisting catholic Institutions when the need arises, dreamt  of providing the young an opportunity to explore, learn and work towards a better future. The impact that he wished to have, would be that the youngster would be educated and self-reliant, and thus be a support to his family and the community as well. With this in mind, through the intervention of Mr. Dexter Machado, the Liaison Manager at Electro pneumatics Ltd., Mr. Rasquinha offered the Salesians one-and-a-half acres of land, to construct a Skills Training Technical Institute for the poor youth of the area at Waki-Kurd, Chakan Taluka, and MIDC belt.

Securing the civil permissions and passing of plans created a great hitch; but through some political pressure, it was sorted out and the Commencement Certificate from the PCMC was obtained. Mr. Anthony Rasquinha would fund the Institute building and the setting up of the CNC machines. Fr. Corlis would approach Mrs. Julia Thiele Schuroff of Knorr Bremse Global Care, to construct the Hostel building, which they readily agreed.

6th December 2014 the Rasquinha-Don Bosco Technical Institute and the Knorr Bremse Hostel were finally blessed and inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Lourdes Daniel, Bishop of Amravati; the inauguration and blessing of the Hostel building was carried out by Fr. Ajoy Fernandes sdb (Vice-Provincial) and Mr. Thomas Lipertt from Knorr Bremse. At the Felicitation ceremony, Mr. Anthony Rasquinha, Managing Director and Chairman of Electro pneumatics in his address, stated his motivation behind this collaboration effort, to benefit many uneducated and unskilled youth of the locality.
