Chinchwad Pune: The new academic year of the Don Bosco Vyawasaik Prashikshan Kendra kicked off today by a welcome prayer service.
The staff and students were welcomed in the traditional way by putting Tilak on their heads. The inaugural address by a student spoke of the ample opportunities present for today’s generation in every sphere of life and how we should make the best use of it. The addressee said `Make use of the opportunities that is being offered at the institute for the future is in your hand,’ The director Fr.Corlis, Fr. Valersian, Fr.Joe, Mr.Shaikh, and a student lit the lamp as a symbol of welcoming God in our midst. Fr.Corlis then garlanded
the Picture of Don Bosco. The Superintendent Mr.Shaikh introduced the management and staff to the students. Fr. Corlis Gonsalves SDB, the Executive Director welcomed the gathering and spoke few words on Don Bosco and the institution. He spoke of a dreamer ‘St.John Bosco’ and later dwelt on his own dream for Don Bosco Chinchwad. He reminded the students of the movement from a simple jungle land to a technical hub for so many courses. And he said ‘my dream is not yet over …….I’m still dreaming”. He asked every student to dream and dream big. To dwell on what one wants to be, while keeping ones feet on the ground one needs to keep his or her heart in the clouds.
The multi lingual prayer of the faithful was a creative and novel way to express our unity in diversity of our staff, management and students. The Inaugural prayer ended by singing the vande mataram.
