Chinchwad Pune: Now it’s SKF at Don Bosco Chinchwad.

SKF a leading global supplier of bearings, seals, mechatronics, lubrication systems, and services which include technical support, maintenance and reliability services, engineering consultations and training now opens a new workshop at Don Bosco Chinchwad. The Workshop is named YES ‘Youth Empowerment at SKF’.

Youth Empowerment at SKF (YES) is SKF India’s flagship CSR program for vocational skill development for promising youth, to empower them by improving their skills, with a focus on employability and entrepreneurship. Through this, the objective is to create a meaningful difference in their lives.

The Press conference on the Inauguration of YES was held at 2.00pm in the hall in Don Bosco Chinchwad. It was followed by the Inauguration of the workshop by K.C. Mehra, Chairman, Board of Directors, SKF India with Heman Hattangady, Independent Director and Chairman of Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, SKF India and Shishir Joshipura, Managing Director, SKF India. The gathering was shown the workshop and other facilities at Don Bsoco Chinchwad.

SKF has been present in India since 1923, when a trading arm of SKF Group was set up in Kolkata. Today, SKF has 6 manufacturing facilities and 3 solution factories across India. Their vision is to equip the world with SKF Knowledge.

The Pilot group of SKF at Don Bosco Chinchwad had 40 boys and 1 girl who finished their batch this May with an employment rate of 85%. At present they are 2 batches of 30 students. There are also 3 girls in the present batch.
